Why It’s Cheaper to Buy Carolina Chair & Table on Faire

Written by David Greene on 8/27/2026

Carrying a new furniture line is one of the riskiest things an independent retailer, home stager, or designer does. The minimum is high. The lead time is a quarter. The freight bill lands before you’ve sold anything. And if the finish doesn’t work under your lighting, that’s your problem, not the vendor’s.

We’ve spent over thirty-five years on the other side of that conversation, and we’ve just removed every one of those obstacles.

Here’s what that actually means.

There is no minimum order

Not a low minimum. None.

Order one dining table. Order two side chairs in a finish you’re curious about. Put them on the floor, see how your customers respond, and go from there. You are not committing to a pallet to find out whether our line works in your store or business.

Most furniture vendors won’t open an account under a few thousand dollars. We think that’s backwards. If our product is good, let it prove itself one piece at a time.

We ship the same or next business day

We stock in High Point, NC. When your order comes in, it goes out the same or next business day.

If you’ve bought furniture before, you know the usual answer is ten to sixteen weeks, and that the answer tends to change after you’ve gotten everything figured out. That’s not how we operate. What’s on the site is on in our warehouse, and it ships promptly.

For a designer working to an install date, or a store trying to fill an inventory gap before a holiday weekend, this is the whole ballgame.

New to Faire? Your first order gets a lot cheaper

If you haven’t bought on Faire before, they’ll take 50% off your first order with us, up to $150, and cover your shipping on orders with us for the next twelve months. Yep, you read that right – Faire will cover your shipping.

Furniture freight is brutal. It’s expensive, it’s unpredictable, and it can eat the margin on a $900 table before you’ve unwrapped it. A year of it covered, funded by Faire rather than quietly built back into our prices, is worth more to most shops than any discount we could offer on our own.

Both of those are Faire’s new-buyer incentives, so they apply to retailers who are new to the platform. If you already buy on Faire, you keep everything below.

Lower Landed Cost

Here’s the part where it makes the most sense. The number on the invoice isn’t your cost. Your cost is the invoice for the product plus the freight, and on case goods the freight is real money.

Faire negotiates carrier rates across the entire platform. We’re one furniture company in High Point, and however sharp our rates are, we are not booking Faire’s volume. That large helpful difference makes it way to you and lands in your cost of goods.

So when you’re weighing us against another line, compare the landed number rather than the unit price. And for your first year on Faire, that freight line is zero.

You have 60 days to pay

Eligible retailers get net-60 terms. The goods arrive, you put them on the floor, you sell them, and then you pay.

Floating a quarter of inventory just to test a line is what stops most small shops from expanding their assortment. Faire underwrites the terms and carries the credit risk, which means we can extend them to accounts we’d never have been able to open terms with on our own.

And if the first order isn’t right, send it back

Faire covers returns on your opening order with us. So the real cost of trying our line is the time it takes to unbox it.

Between that, the sixty days, and no minimum, we’ve run out of reasons for you not to try one table.

How to get started

  1. Use our direct link. Click here to set up your account. This part matters — the terms above attach to accounts that come through this link specifically.
  2. Verify your business. Faire will ask for a resale certificate or business license. It takes a few minutes.
  3. Order what you want to try. No minimum, no opening-order requirement.

Questions we’ve already gotten

Can I still just call you?
Always. Same people, same number. But place the order through the link — that’s how the terms and any new-buyer credits get attached to your account. Call us to talk through finishes and we’ll point you to the right SKUs.

P.S. We prefer to email 🙂 -David

I’m an established account with terms. Do I have to switch?
No. Nothing changes unless you want the terms above, in which case use the link and we’ll take it from there.

Do you still do custom orders?
Yes. Custom orders and bulk contract orders run through us directly, same as always. The storefront is for stocked catalog items.

What if I want to pick up?
We’re in High Point and always happy to load you out. Give us a call to arrange it.

We’ve spent over thirty-five years building a line that holds up in real dining rooms, in real houses, with real kids at the table. This is just an easier way to get it into your store.
